The Caribbean Netherlands is a geographic region of the located outside of Europe, in the , consisting of three special municipalities. These are the islands of , , and , as they are also known in legislation, or the BES islands for short. The islands are officially classified as in the Netherlands and as of the ; as such, does not automatically apply to them.
